Preliminary work for removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Remove 2/3-split folding rear seat. -> 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat - section on "Removing" 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat

Removing 2/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Remove the left trim panel on the 2/3-split folding rear seat.
1.1. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- on the seat trim -2- at the left.
Press the control lever up to do this.

1.2. Carefully unclip the trim panel -2- at the retaining lugs -3- on the seat.
1.3. Carefully pull the trim panel up and remove it.
2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on the seat trim -2- at the right.

3. Carefully unclip the trim panel -2- at the brackets -3- and lift it up and off.
4. Remove the shaft for 2/3-split folding backrest adjustment.
4.1. Loosen the retaining lugs -1- on the adjustment device using a suitable tool -2- and press the shaft -3- out from the other side.

4.2. Pull the shaft -1- out of the seat frame -arrow-.

6. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-3- on the 2/3-split folding backrest at the right.

7. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-3- on the 2/3-split folding backrest at the left.

Installing 2/3-split folding rear backrest

1. The 2/3-split folding backrest is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Observe the correct tightening torques.
