1. Remove 2/3-split folding rear seat. -> 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat - section on "Removing" 724819 Removing and installing 2/3-split folding rear seat

Removing lock for 2/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Remove the left trim panel on the 2/3-split folding rear seat.
1.1. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- on the seat trim -2- at the left.
Press the control lever up to do this.

1.2. Carefully unclip the trim panel -2- at the retaining lugs -3- on the seat.
1.3. Carefully pull the trim panel up and remove it.
2. Remove the lever for the locking mechanism.

2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from the locking mechanism -2-.
2.2. Carefully unclip and remove the lever -2- together with the joint at the locking lug -3-.
3. Carefully unclip the locking lug -1- on the handle -2- of the locking mechanism using a suitable tool -3- and remove it from the lever -4-. Then pull off the handle.

Installing lock for 2/3-split folding rear backrest

1. Install the lever -2- for the locking mechanism.

1.1. Fit the joint on the retaining pin -3- and check that it engages securely.
1.2. Screw in fastening screw -1- for the locking mechanism and tighten to => Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb).
2. Install left trim panel on 2/3-split folding rear seat.

2.1. Guide the trim panel into position on the seat from above and engage it securely at the clips.
2.2. Screw in fastening screw and tighten to => Tightening torque: 2 Nm (1.5 ftlb.).
3. Slide the handle -1- of the locking mechanism onto the lever -2- until the locking lug engages securely -3-.
