Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Foreword

Foreword

With the launch of the first generation of Cayenne models in 2002, Porsche stormed the market segment of premium SUVs with great success. The superior performance both on and off the road, the unique design and the exceptional day-today usability have impressed so many customers all over the world, that more than 270,000 vehicles from the third series had rolled off the production line by the end of 2009.

The new Cayenne models will be launched on the respective markets as from May 2010. In other words, the development engineers had the task of consolidating the leading position of the Cayenne in the areas of driving dynamics and driving performance while keeping CO2 emissions comparatively low. This could only be achieved by enhancing the drives, making significant reductions in weight using new materials and integrating state-of-the-art technology in our vehicles. A total of three derivates and three drive types cover a wide range of customer requirements.

A high level of qualification throughout the entire AfterSales organization is essential to meet the high expectations of Porsche customers in spite of the ever increasing complexity of the technology used in the vehicles and the growing number of different variants.

This Service Information Technik describes the technical modifications that have been made to the Cayenne models based on the vehicles from the second generation (model years 2006 to 2010). A separate brochure will be published due to the special characteristics of the Cayenne S Hybrid and special requirements regarding high-volt technology. This Service Information Technik does not include any related content.
