Information

It is sufficient to read off the engine-oil level in the instrument cluster as described in the Driver's Manual when the specified conditions are met.

Test conditions:

Engine oil temperature is at least 60 °C

Vehicle is parked horizontally.

Wait a few minutes after stopping the engine to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.

The oil dipstick on the Cayenne, model year 2008-2009, is also suitable as an alternative method of checking the engine-oil level.

Test procedure:
1. Pull out oil dipstick and wipe it off with a clean, lint-free cloth. Push dipstick back in fully, pull it out again and read off the oil level => Markings on the oil dipstick. Correct engine-oil level if necessary.

Markings on the oil dipstick

- 1 - Max. marking
- 2 - Min. marking
- a - Above cross-hatched area up to Max. marking: no more oil needs to be added.
- b - Oil level within cross-hatched area: additional engine oil can be added.
- c - Area from Min. marking to cross-hatched area: refill engine oil up to the cross-hatched area.
