Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Preliminary work

1. Remove left cowl panel cover. -> 664419 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

1. Unscrew four fastening screws -1- on the relay box cover and remove the cover.

2. Unplug all six relay plug connections -2- in the relay box.

3. Unscrew four fastening screws -3- on the lower part of the relay box and carefully remove the lower part.
4. Turn the upper part of the relay box to one side.
5. Release and unplug electric plug connection -4- ( -a- ).

6. Unscrew fastening screw -5- on the brake light switch -6-.
7. Pull the brake light switch up out of the guide -7-.

Installing brake light switch

1. Slide the brake light switch into the guide -7-.

2. Secure the brake light switch -6- with the fastening screw -5-.

3. Plug in electric plug connection -4- until it engages securely.
4. Carefully position the lower part of the relay box.
5. Secure the upper and lower parts of the relay box with the four fastening screws.
6. Connect the six relay plug connections according to colour.
7. Position the relay box cover on the relay box.
8. Tighten the four fastening screws -1- on the relay box cover.
