Removing rear wheel cover

1. Unscrew bottom fastening screw -1-.

2. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the wheel housing liner -2-.

3. Press the wheel housing liner -2- aside -A- and unscrew the fastening screw -3- and fastening nut -4- from the inside.

4. Pull off safety clip -5-.

5. Remove wheel cover at the door.

5.1. Heat up wheel cover -8- at the door -9- using a hot-air blower.
5.2. Prise wheel cover -8- off evenly all the way around at the door -9- using an assembly wedge.
6. Remove wheel cover on rear apron.

6.1. Heat up wheel cover -10- on the rear apron -11- using a hot-air blower.
6.2. Prise wheel cover -10- off the rear apron -11- evenly all the way around using an assembly wedge -arrow-.
7. Remove wheel cover on the side panel.

7.1. Heat up wheel cover -6- on the side panel -7- using a hot-air blower ( hot-air blower WE Leister-Electron ).
7.2. Prise wheel cover -6- off the side panel -7- evenly all the way around, starting from the rear, using an assembly wedge -arrow-.
8. Clean bonding areas.

8.1. Remove adhesive residue in the assembly area -A- with an erasing disc ( erasing disc Nr.174 Pos.1 ).
8.2. Wipe off fitting area -A- with a cloth soaked in isopropanol. => 000.043.157.00 Cleaning agent (As a replacement for isopropanol)

Installing rear wheel cover

Information

- The object and room temperature must be at least 18° C for bonding the components.

- The components must be bonded for at least 24 hours before washing the vehicle.

1. Fit the wheel cover to the side panel.

1.1. Position wheel cover -6- on the side panel -7- and clip it in.
1.2. Pull protective paper -13- off the adhesive tape.

1.3. Press evenly and firmly on wheel cover in area of adhesive -6- with the ball of your hand.
2. Fit wheel cover at the door.
2.1. Pull protective paper -14- off the adhesive tape.

Information

- Start positioning the wheel cover at the top.

- Align the cover flush with the edge of the door.

2.2. Position wheel cover -8- at the door -9-.

2.3. Press evenly and firmly on wheel cover in area of adhesive -8- with the ball of your hand.
3. Fit wheel cover on rear apron.

3.1. Position wheel cover -10- on the rear apron -11- and clip it in.
3.2. Pull protective paper -12- off the adhesive tape.

3.3. Press evenly and firmly on wheel cover in area of adhesive -10- with the ball of your hand.
4. Screw in bottom fastening screw -1-.

5. Fit safety clip -5-.

6. Press the wheel housing liner -2- aside -A- and screw in the fastening screw -3- and fastening nut -4- from the inside.

7. Screw in fastening screws -1- for the wheel housing liner -2-.
