Preliminary work
Information
If the control unit has to be replaced, the values/coding must be read out prior to removal using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818.

Voltage peaks
- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit
-> Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing load.
Information
Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Assembly work must only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes approved by Porsche.
- The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed.
- Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts.
Installation position of rear door control unit
1. Release electrical plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off -A-.

2. Unlock the electrical plug connection -2- by pulling -b- the tab and pressing -c- the locking mechanism and pull off the connector -B-.
Information
The door control unit is fitted into the door sub-frame -1- and engaged in the door sub-frame with a locking lug -2-.
Mounting principle for door control unit
If you are unclipping the door control unit for the first time, greater force will be required in order to release the locking lug -2- from the door sub-frame.
Press the control unit backwards against the door sub-frame while you are releasing it.
3. Release the catch -A- on the control unit and remove it in the direction of the arrow -B-.

Installing rear door control unit
1. Engage control unit for front door in the door sub-frame and clip it in.

2. Insert the electrical plug connection -1- ( -A- ) until the connector engages securely.

3. Plug in electrical plug connection -2- ( -B- ) and lock it -a-.

1. If a new door control unit was installed, the values must be loaded into the new door control unit and the coding must be checked. -> 577355 Replacing door control unit 577319 Removing and Installing Control Unit for Front Door
