Technical values





Preliminary work

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" DME control unit. -> 247055 Replacing DME control unit 247055 Replacing DME control unit, -> 247019 Removing and installing DME control unit - section on "Reading out".
2. Remove cowl panel cover. -> 664419 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Installation position of DME control unit

Information

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

- Assembly work must only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes approved by Porsche.

- The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed.

- Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts.

1. Switch off ignition and remove remote control.
2. Unscrew two fastening screws -1- on bracket for control unit and remove water drip pan -2-.

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit

-> Remove remote control and switch off ignition before disconnecting or removing electrical load.

3. Release electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off -B-.

4. Release electric plug connection -2- ( -a- ) and pull it off -B-.
5. Remove DME control unit with bracket by pulling it upwards.

1. Fit bracket for DME control unit on the guide pins -1-.

2. Plug in electric plug connection -2- ( -B- ) and lock it -a-.

3. Plug in electric plug connection -1- ( -B- ) and lock it -a-.
4. Fit water drip pan -2- and screw in two fastening screws -1- on bracket for DME control unit. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

Replacing DME control unit

1. Unscrew six fastening screws -1- on the bracket.

2. Screw in six fastening screws -1- on the bracket. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818. -> 247055 Replacing DME control unit 247055 Replacing DME control unit.
2. Install cowl panel cover. -> 664419 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
