- The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed.
- Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts.

1. Screw off fastening nut on the ground point -1- on the wheel housing (behind headlight).
2. Release and unplug electric plug connection for connection point to front wire harness -2-.

6. Release and unplug electric plug connection for additional coolant pump -15-.

11. Loosen relay box.

11.2. Release and unplug electric plug connections -12- on main wire harness in engine compartment.

11.3. Pull main wire harness for engine compartment out of the bracket at the relay box -A-.
11.4. Remove relay box by pulling it up. The relay box is clipped in at the underside with three catches.

14. Remove heat shield -1- between primary catalytic converter and wheel housing.
14.1. Unscrew six fastening screws.
15. Loosen fastenings -2- for wiring for steering.
16. Loosen fastenings -3- for wiring for cooling water valve unit.
17. Loosen fastenings -4- for main wire harness in engine compartment.
18. Pull rubber sleeve -5- in cross panel out of the body.
19. Loosen fastenings -6- for main wire harness in plenum panel.

1. Installation is performed in reverse order.
2. First lay the main wire harness loosely in the wheel housing and engine compartment, ensuring that it is positioned correctly.

3. Slide rubber sleeve in cross panel -5- into the body.
4. Fit fastenings -6- for main wire harness in plenum panel.
5. Fit fastenings -4- for main wire harness in the engine compartment.
6. Fit fastenings -2- for wiring for steering.
7. Fit fastenings -3- for wiring for cooling water valve unit.
8. Fit heat shield -1- between primary catalytic converter and wheel housing.
9. Plug in electric plug connections -2 - 16- until they engage securely.
10. Tighten fastening nut on ground point -1- to => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.).
