Preliminary work

Removal
Removing sealing ring for cardan flange
1. Pull off O-ring -1- and circlip -2-.

2. Remove dust boot.
2.1. Pierce two holes in the dust boot using a mandrel.
2.2. Screw in tapping screws -arrows- with a diameter of 4 mm.
2.3. Pull out dust boot using puller T10055. => Removing dust boot

Information
Do not screw tapping screw in too far to avoid damaging the bearing behind it.
3. Remove sealing ring.
3.1. Pierce two holes in the sealing ring using a mandrel.
3.2. Screw in tapping screws with a diameter of 4 mm.
3.3. Pull out sealing ring using puller T10055. => Removing sealing ring

Installation
Installing sealing ring for cardan flange
1. Install sealing ring.
1.1. Half-fill the space between the sealing and dust lips -arrow- on the new sealing ring with sealing grease.
1.2. Mask the splines on the operator shaft with adhesive tape to prevent damage to the new sealing ring.
1.3. Slide the sealing ring as far as it will go onto the final drive.
1.4. Tap the sealing ring in as far as it will go using a thrust piece assembly tool T10430. Do not bend the sealing ring. => Installing sealing ring
1.5. Pull off adhesive tape.

2. Tap in new dust boot using thrust piece T10430/1. => Fitting dust boot

3. Fit new O-ring -1- and new circlip -2-.

Subsequent work
1. Install front cardan shaft. -> 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft
2. Check oil for front final drive and top up if necessary. -> 399035 Checking and topping up oil for all-wheel final drive 399035 Checking and topping up oil for all-wheel final drive
