Preliminary work

1. Remove front door sub-frame. -> 573019 Removing and installing front door sub-frame - section on "Removing" 573019 Removing and Installing Front Door Unit Carrier
2. Remove the front door window. -> 644019 Removing and installing front door window - section on "Removing" Procedures

Removing front corner window pane

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Pull the front window guide off the rear door frame.
If you intend to re-use the window guide, make sure it is not kinked or bent.

2. Pull the front window guide off the front corner window pane.

3. Remove the front window guide completely.
4. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on the front corner window pane at the top outer side.

5. Unscrew fastening screws -2- on the inside.

6. Pull the corner window pane to the rear -A- and turn it 90° -B-.

7. Lift the corner window pane up -C- through the window channel and remove it.

Installing front corner window pane

Information

1. Guide the corner window pane into the window channel -D- and turn it 90° -E-.

2. Slide the corner window pane forward into position.

3. Tighten fastening screw -1- at the top on the outside to => Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3 ftlb.).
Check that there is an equal gap with respect to the door frame so that the window guide can be fitted.

4. Fit front window guide at the triangular window -3-.
Do not kink or bend the window guide out of shape during installation.

5. Fit the window guide into the front corner window pane.

6. Fit the window guide on the door window frame at the top and rear.

7. Tighten fastening screws -2- on the inside to => Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3 ftlb.).
