NOTICE

Voltage drop

- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

-> Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
-> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
-> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least => Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

Information

The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester II 9818.

For trouble-free operation, Lane Change Assist must be calibrated after the following work is carried out on the vehicle:

- When one or both Lane Change Assist control units are replaced.

- When the installation position of one or both Lane Change Assist control units is changed.

- When body repairs are carried out on the rear of the vehicle.

- When the rear bumper is removed or moved out of position.

1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition and press F12 to continue.
2. Select the vehicle type and start the Tester.
3. Select the Lane Change Assist control unit in the overview.
4. Select Maintenance/repairs.
5. Select Control unit replacement and press F12.
6. Select Read data and press F12.
7. Press F8 to start reading out data.
8. Check the chassis number and press F12.

10. Switch on ignition. Select the Write data menu (procedure described above), press F12 and then press F8 to start installing the data that was read out.
11. The System Tester displays the message Data has been written. Press F12 to continue.
12. Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.

Subsequent work

If a Lane Change Assist control unit was removed and installed or replaced, the Lane Change Assist control unit must be re-calibrated on a level surface using the calibration unit Calibration unit for Lane Change Assist VAS 6350/4 WE 1375, Calibration unit VAS 6350 WE 1368, Spacing laser VAS 6350/2 WE 1369. -> 9170K2 Calibrating control unit for Lane Change Assist Testing and Inspection.
