Preliminary work

1. Disconnect the battery and wait one minute. -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Remove door panels at the front left or right. -> 705919 Removing and installing front door panel - section on "Removing" 705919 Removing and installing front door panel.
3. Remove door sub-frame at the front left or right. -> 573019 Removing and installing front door sub-frame - section on "Removing" 573019 Removing and Installing Front Door Sub-Frame.

CAUTION

Incorrect triggering of airbag modules.

- Danger of injury and material damage if airbag sensors are not handled correctly!

-> Remove ignition key. Disconnect battery. Route or isolate ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, seat frame) is avoided.
-> Always wait one minute after disconnecting the battery before disconnecting the connector from the sensor.
-> The airbag sensor must not be removed with the plug plugged in!
-> The airbag sensors cannot be interchanged. Install the sensor listed in the Spare Parts Catalogue (PET).

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Disconnect the battery and wait one minute. -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Release and pull off plug connection -a- for pressure sensor.

Information

- A perfect seal is only guaranteed if the sealing surfaces of the door sub-frame are undamaged.

- Do not damage or deform the sensor when drilling out blind rivets.

3. Carefully drill out the two blind rivets -1- for the pressure sensor.

4. Remove pressure sensor from the door sub-frame.

Installing pressure sensor

1. Position pressure sensor on the door sub-frame.
2. Insert the two blind rivets -1- and rivet them to the door sub-frame using the hand riveting tool Nr.124-1 Pos.1 and mouth piece Nr.124-2 Pos.2.

3. Connect plug connection until it engages securely.

Subsequent work

1. Install door sub-frame at the front left or right. -> 573019 Removing and installing front door sub-frame - section on "Installing" 573019 Removing and Installing Front Door Sub-Frame.
2. Install door panels at the front left or right. -> 705919 Removing and installing front door panel - section on "Installing" 705919 Removing and installing front door panel.
3. Connect the battery and carry out work instructions after disconnecting the battery. -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
