Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Preliminary work

1. Drain refrigerant. -> 870317 Draining and filling refrigerant - section on "Draining" Service and Repair

Refrigerant

- Danger of freezing

-> Avoid contact with refrigerant.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and dealing with refrigerant.
-> Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.
-> Observe the instructions for repairing air conditioning systems and storing spare parts.





Installation position

1. Release electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off the pressure switch -B-.

Information

Support the refrigerant line with your hand close to the pressure switch when screwing the pressure switch on and off.

2. Unscrew and remove pressure switch -2- at the hexagon using an open-ended wrench.

Installing pressure switch

1. Replace the O-ring on the pressure switch and wet it with refrigerant oil.

Information

Support the refrigerant line with your hand close to the pressure switch when screwing the pressure switch on and off.

2. Screw pressure switch -2- onto the thread by hand and tighten it at the hexagon using an open-ended wrench. => Tightening torque: 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)

3. Plug in electric plug connection -1- on the pressure switch until it engages securely.

1. Fill in refrigerant. -> 870317 Draining and filling refrigerant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair
