Preliminary work
Information
- The door window in the door in question must be closed in order to remove the door sub-frame.
- Close the window before disconnecting the battery.

Removing door sub-frame
CAUTION
Incorrect triggering of airbag modules.
- Danger of injury and material damage if airbag sensors are not handled correctly!
-> Remove ignition key. Disconnect battery. Route or isolate ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, seat frame) is avoided.
-> Always wait one minute after disconnecting the battery before disconnecting the connector from the sensor.
-> The airbag sensor must not be removed with the plug plugged in!
-> The airbag sensors cannot be interchanged. Install the sensor listed in the Spare Parts Catalogue (PET).
1. Pull back the rubber sleeve -1- at the A-pillar using a suitable tool.

2. Release electric plug connections -2- at the connection point -a- , pull them off and slide them and the rubber sleeve through the bore hole -B-.

3. Release electric plug connection for the mirror -a- , pull it off -A- and slide it through the bore hole -1-.

4. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the door arrester and remove the door arrester -2- at the A-pillar.

5. Remove plastic trim panel (trim) -1- at the rear edge of the door.

6. Detach seal -1- at the front edge of the door.

7. Unscrew aluminium fastening screws -1- using special tool Torx Micro Bit 9824/3 and dispose of them.

8. Unscrew steel fastening screws -2-.

9. Fold the door sub-frame forward and get another person to hold it.

10. Guide the actuating cable -1- for the door opener and the rubber sleeve -2- through the bore hole.
11. Release electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off the door lock -A-.

Information
The help of another person is required for removing the door sub-frame.
Get the helper to guide the door arrester through the support plate and secure it so that it will not fall down.
Once you have removed the door sub-frame, secure the door arrester at the A-pillar again.
12. Remove door sub-frame.
Installing door sub-frame
Information
- Immediately before sticking on, wash off the areas on which you intend to stick the seal using isopropanol to ensure that all traces of silicone, grease and oil are completely removed.

- The seal is stuck on in the area of the door arrester rubber bushing after the door sub-frame has been installed.
- Do not press on the seal in the area of the door arrester rubber bushing.
1. The door sub-frame is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Replace the aluminium fastening screws and tighten to => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)+90°.
3. Tighten the steel fastening screws to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).
4. Tighten the fastening screws for the door arrester to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 33 Nm (24 ftlb.).
5. Stick seal for door sub-frame in the area of the door arrester using double-sided adhesive tape (Part No. 000 043 206 59).
Subsequent work
