Preliminary work

1. Remove front wheel at both sides.

2. Remove front apron.

3. Remove front part of front wheel housing liner at both sides.

4. Remove air guide for air cleaner.

Removing charge air cooler

1. Remove accessories on charge air cooler.





Charge air cooler connections

1.1. Remove the charge air line -10 and 11- between the charge air cooler and the air box for the throttle valve at the charge air cooler on both sides.
1.2. Raise the vehicle.

1.3. Remove pressure hose -3 and 4- on the charge air cooler at both sides.
1.4. Remove hose from ambient air valve -8- on the charge air cooler at both sides.
1.5. Remove hose for ambient air valve -5 and 6- to the suction hose from the turbocharger at both sides.
1.5.1. Secure the ambient air valve at the side on both sides.
1.6. Remove the air guide for the air-cleaner box at both sides.

1.6.1. First open the retaining clip on the front wire harness on the right side and remove the wire harness from the holder.
2. Remove fastening screws on charge air cooler.





Mounting point for charge air cooler

2.1. Remove the two fastening screws -3 and 4- on the charge air cooler at the lock carrier.
2.2. Remove fastening screws -6- between the charge air cooler and wing.
3. Move charge air cooler to the side.

Installing charge air cooler

Installation is performed in reverse order.
1. Guide charge air cooler in sideways.
2. Screw in fastening screws on charge air cooler.





Mounting point for charge air cooler

2.1. Fit the two fastening screws -3 and 4- on the charge air cooler at the lock carrier.=> Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
2.2. Fit fastening screws -6- between charge air cooler and wing.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
3. Fit accessories on charge air cooler.





Charge air cooler connections

3.1. Fit pressure hose -3 and 4- on the charge air cooler at both sides.
3.2. Fit hose for ambient air valve -5 and 6- to the suction hose from the turbocharger at both sides.
3.3. Fit hose from ambient air valve -8- on the charge air cooler at both sides.
3.4. Fit the air guide for the air-cleaner box at both sides.

3.4.1. Open the retaining clip on the front wire harness on the right side and secure the wire harness in the holder.
3.5. Lower the vehicle.
3.6. Fit the charge air line -10 and 11- between the charge air cooler and the air box for the throttle valve at the charge air cooler on both sides.

Subsequent work

1. Fit air guide for air cleaner.

2. Fit front part of front wheel housing liner at both sides.

3. Fit front apron.

4. Fit front wheel at both sides.
