Diagnostic information - DME (DFI)

Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)


NOTE: The fault is detected if the specified adaptation range is left (more than 13° crank angle).

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 9 V and 16 V
- Time after engine starts more than 10 seconds

Possible fault causes
- Dynamic driving style when oil level is near minimum (oil foaming)
- Chain extended
- Camshaft timing gear undone/loose
- Wrong camshaft installed e.g. 3.6 l from/to 3.8 l)

- If the fault occurs after reprogramming of the DME (DFI) control unit:
- Timing incorrectly adjusted
