Coolant temperature sensor, electrical fault

NOTE: The fault is detected when:
- the measured coolant temperature is below - 40 °C (- 40 °F) with ignition on or engine running and intake air temperature > -30 °C (-22 °F),
or
- the measured coolant temperature is below - 40 °C (- 40 °F) with engine running > 300 s,
or
- the measured coolant temperature is above +130 °C (266 °F) with ignition on or engine running,

Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle voltage > 9 V
- Intake air temperature > -30 °C (-22 °F)
- Engine running > 5 minutes

Possible fault causes
- Loose contact or corrosion on connectors or lines
- Short circuit to B+/ground/between lines or open circuit in the lines
- Coolant temperature sensor faulty
