P0713/P0712 ATF temperature

NOTE: The ignition must be switched off and then switched on again in order to display a fault message in the instrument cluster.

Diagnostic conditions
The control unit must be active in order to test internal function sequences and diagnosable inputs/outputs.
In the event of a fault, check whether the fault is permanently >present<. To perform the check, erase the fault memory, meet the diagnostic conditions and read out the fault memory again.

NOTE:
The ATF fluid level in the transmission must be OK and the specified ATF fluid must be used.
The ATF filter and cooler must not be blocked.
- Ignition on
- Tiptronic control unit, internal function test
- Engine running, in gear and set off with the vehicle
- No electrical faults (ATF temperature sensor) stored in fault memory
- Torque converter lockup clutch OFF
- Output shaft speed < 800 rpm

Possible fault causes
- [Above upper limit], fault displayed in instrument cluster.
- Radiator clogged up
- Torque converter or transmission mechanically faulty
- Tiptronic control unit faulty

Fault effects
- The Tiptronic control unit sends a signal to the DME control unit to limit the torque
