OBD Summary Table

OBD Summary Table

Tolerated percentage of misfire without catalyst damaging
The misfire percentage to reach the catalyst damage temperature, which is determined as 950 °C for this test group, is listed in the summary table for the misfire monitor, depending on each engine speed and load condition. The temperature is established in compliance with CCR 1968.2 section (e)(3.2.1)(D).

Probability of detection of misfire events
Please refer to summary table

Disablement of misfire monitoring during FTP and US06.If the monitor is enabled according to the enable conditions listed in the summary table there are no additional disablement's of misfire monitoring during FTP and US06.

List of all electronic powertrain input and output signals

Please refer to summary table

Catalyst Statement:
Volkswagen will certify this test group to the 1.75 times NOx catalyst monitoring threshold in MY 2011.

IUMPR Statement:

- Oxygen sensor (e)(7.3.1)(A) yes (min ratio = 0.336)
- Oxygen sensor (e)(7.3.2)(A) yes (min ratio = 0.100)
- Evaporative system (e)(4.3.2) yes (min ratio = 0.260 / 0.520)
- EGR (e)(8.3.1) n.a.
- VVT (e)(13.3) yes (min ratio = 0.336)

Incrementing of numerator for EVAP very small leak in use monitor performance (P0456):
- To increment the numerator for very small leak detection a background monitor will be considered. This ghost monitor will be related to the worst case times of each phase and step of this diagnosis.
Case 1:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are met for the worst case time, the system would have detected a failure. The numerator will be incremented.
Case 2:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are not met, analogous to the normal function, the system would repeat the monitor. The numerator would not be incremented.
Case 3:
- during any repeated monitor, the monitor conditions are met for the worst case time, the system would have detected a failure. In this case the numerator will be incremented.

Incrementing of numerator for front O2 Sensor in use monitor performance (e.g. P0130, P0133&):
- To increment the numerator a background monitor for sensor activity checks and response check will be considered. This ghost monitor will be related to the worst case times of each phase and step of the diagnosis.
Case 1:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are met for the worst case condition (e.g. number of amplitudes for slow sensor response) the system would have detected a failure. The numerator will be incremented.
Case 2:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are not met, analogous to the normal function. The numerator would not be incremented.
Case 3:
- If during any repeated monitor, the monitor conditions are met for the worst case time, the system would have detected a failure. In this case the numerator will be incremented.

Incrementing of numerator for Catalyst efficiency in use monitor performance (P0420):
- To increment the numerator a background monitor will be considered. This ghost monitor will be related to the worst case times of each phase and step of this diagnosis. For each time to increment the numerator, the O2 sensor monitors has to be completed.
Case 1:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are met for the worst case time, the system would have detected a failure. The numerator will be incremented.
Case 2:
- If during this time, the monitor conditions are not met, analogous to the normal function, the system would repeat the monitor. The numerator would not be incremented.

Incrementing denominator in accordance to CCR: 1968.2 Sect. (d)(4.3.2):

As presented and approved (VW/AUDI ARB meeting Aug.,7 2003) for this test group the following signals are used for denominator incrementing.
Each used sensor for this purpose is monitored as described either as out of range, signal or rationality check.
