9. Communication Monitoring9.1 CAN controller monitoring (P0604)
The Battery contains two CAN controller to communicate with the vehicle (see Figure 9-1).
9.1.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy will check, if the CAN controller has a malfunction.
The malfunction is detected by internal CAN controller status.

9.2.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy will check, if a received CAN messages is invalid.
A message malfunction is detected by CAN controller status.

9.3 CAN timeout monitoring (U0002, U0100, U0121, U0146, U0155)
9.3.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy will check, if a CAN messages is not received any more.
If a message timeout counter exceeds a threshold a malfunction is detected.

9.4 CAN bus off monitoring (U0001, U0028)

This monitoring strategy will check, if the CAN bus has a wiring malfunction by checking controller status.
