Refinishing Replacement (Pre-Primed) Bumper

1. Clean the entire bumper outer surface with Ditzler DX-330 or Dupont Prep-Sol wax and grease remover.

2. Scuff sand the entire bumper outer surface with 400-600 grit sandpaper or a 3M Scotch pad.

3. Clean bumper outer surface again with a wax and grease remover.

4. Wipe bumper outer surface with a tack rag.

5. Color coat as follows:

NOTE: Because replacement bumpers are pre-primed and painted with a low gloss black, it is not necessary to paint the center black-out section of the bumper. Only masking of this area is required.

^ Non clearcoat paint colors - Add a flex agent such as Ditzler DX-369 or Dupont 355S to acrylic lacquer or enamel color coat per instructions on flex agent container; then apply color coat.

^ Clearcoat paint colors - Apply Dupont lacquer base coat per instructions on paint container (do not use any flex agent in base coat); then apply Dupont 580S urethane clearcoat over base coat per instructions on clearcoat container. An equivalent urethane base coat-clear coat system may also be used.
