Boost Control (Turbo Only)
On turbo models, the warm up regulator/boost control is connected directly to the inlet manifold.
The special warm up regulator incorporates a steel diaphragm valve. The pressure of the spring in the valve is controlled by a bi-metallic regulator and a rubber diaphragm which responds to the pressure generated by the compressor. At a pressure of about 5.8 psi (0.4 bar) the spring pressure on the steel diaphragm is lowered, thereby lowering the control pressure.
