Use caution when testing cold start valve. Due to atomization of fuel there is a possibility of fire.
1. Disconnect connector from cold start terminals.
2. Remove valve from throttle housing with fuel line connected.
3. Connect a wired plug to cold start valve and connect one wire to high beam terminal and other wire to body of one of the headlights.
4. Connect a jumper wire from relay holder (fuel pump relay terminals 30-87) to activate pump.
5. Place cold start valve in a container, Fig. 3 and have an assistant switch headlights to high beam for a short period (30 seconds max.). Fuel should spray out of valve.
6. Dry valve nozzle and allow fuel pump to run for one minute.
7. No fuel should pass through valve during this period.
