Vehicle Damage Warnings
1. Always ensure the battery is properly connected to the vehicle prior to attempting to start the engine.
2. NEVER attempt to start the engine using an external power source, such as a rapid charger or batteries connected in series.
3. If the battery is to be charged using a rapid charger, disconnect both battery cables.
4. Don't disconnect the battery when the engine is running.
5. Ensure all electrical connections have clean and proper connections.
6. Never connect or disconnect electrical connections with the ignition switch in the on position unless specifically directed to do so in a test procedure.
7. In order to disable the ignition system, unplug the connector on the output module. NEVER disconnect the secondary leads to disable the ignition system and crank the engine.
8. Before the vehicle is exposed to excessive heat (176°F; 80°C) or electrical welding, remove the ECU from the vehicle.
9. Be careful not to reverse the polarity of the fuel pump.
10. Do not use a self powered test lamp to check for continuity.
11. Do not create any arcing to check the continuity of a circuit
12. On vehicles equipped with catalytic converters, the following conditions must be observed:
a. Use only "UNLEADED FUEL".
b. Avoid running out of fuel.
c. In case of poor engine operation (misfiring), avoid driving the vehicle and correct the problem as soon as possible.
d. Do not disconnect a spark plug wire with the vehicle running.
e. Avoid push starting the vehicle.
f. If running tests on a dynamometer, make sure the catalytic converter is well ventilated.
13. Use caution around secondary ignition leads. The ignition system is capable of generating voltages in excess of 30,000 volts. This voltage may be harmful to some people, especially people with electronic life sustaining devices (i.e. pacemaker, etc.).
14. Never disconnect a secondary ignition lead when the engine is running.
