Operation
The supply is taken from fuse 27 to hazard warning light switch 25 via the 29-pole red connector 152B. (The pin numbers within parentheses for the switch refer to the 1984 and 1985 models only.) When this switch is depressed, the current continues to flasher relay 23 via terminal 2.

From the flasher relay, the current pulses return to switch 25. Since the latter is closed, the current pulses continue to terminals 8 (left-hand) and 7 (right-hand). They are supplied with current pulses only when the flasher relay is energized.

Front and rear left-hand direction indicator lamps 27 are then supplied with current pulses via terminal L on direction indicator stalk switch 24, across pin 11 of connector 58.

Lamps 28 on the right-hand side of the car are supplied in the same way from pin 7 of the hazard warning light switch, across pin 10 of connector 58.

The two direction indicator warning lamps, 47H (lefthand) and 471 (right-hand) will also flash.

1986 models
The 1986 models are equipped with side direction indicators 89 and 90 located on the left-hand and right-hand front wings respectively. The lamps are supplied in parallel with the direction indicator lamps in the front light clusters.

Fault-tracing hints
The hazard warning lights are always supplied.

1. Check fuse 27 and check that the supply to it is live.

2. Check that the supply to hazard warning light switch 25 is live.

3. Press the switch and check that terminal 6 (1984 and 1985 models) or 2 (1986 models) is live.

4. Check that terminals 49 and 49A of flasher relay 23 are live.

5. Check the bulbs and check that the supply to them is live.

6. Check the connectors, cable harnesses and earth connections.
