Deceleration Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2. Connect a suitable tachometer to the engine and adjust the idle speed to 875 RPM.
3. Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM and using a suitable stop watch, measure time between the release of the throttle and the moment at which the engine returns to 875 RPM. The deceleration time required should be approximately 3-6 seconds. If time measured is not within specified limit, adjust dash pot.
