The hydraulic oil hose for the automatic transmission oil cooler may be routed too close to the AC radiator fan support. Please see the following directions for correcting this problem. Cars built after the VIN Serial Nos. listed below have been checked and corrected on the assembly line.

Affected cars should be checked during the P.D.I. or at the next scheduled service.

Cars Affected: 900, 900S

Checking and Repair Instructions:

1. Check the clearance between the hydraulic hose (P/N 75-43-700) and the AC fan support.

If the clearance is less than 1/8" (3 mm) proceed with the following repair steps until proper clearance is achieved.

2. Move clamp (P/N 71-55-500) to the new position as indicated in fig. 1. Fit a tie-strap (P/N 79-71-872) as shown.

Check the clearance. If inadequate proceed to step 3.

FIGURE 2:

3. Rotate the oil cooler as shown in fig. 2 and at the same time loosen the oil cooler hose fitting and rotate 15~ +/- 3~ closer to the engine. This will give more clearance at the fan support. Re-tighten the hose. There should be no binding of the hose. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Check your clearance and proceed to step 4 if inadequate.

4. Remove the radiator fan and cut away the fan support as shown in fig. 3. Replace the radiator fan.
Warranty Information: If the clearance is less than 1/8", use Failure Code 26134-07-0-06/01-05. For steps 1, 2, and 3, labor allowance is 0.3 hour (enter as Straight Time). If step 4 is necessary, add Labor Operation #26251 for 0.5 hour.
