Operation
Provision is made for the installation of a radio. Space has been reserved for a radio in the centre console, and wiring has been run to various points in the car for speakers 266 and electric aerial 265.

Two speakers are fitted at the front as standard equipment.

The rear speakers are wired by means of single-pole connectors. The connectors for the electrically-operated aerial are on the left-hand side at the rear. One of these receives a positive supply directly from fuse 19.

Two 10-pin connectors, one for the power supply and one for the speaker connections, are fitted behind the centre console.

The following cables are connected to connector 267, shown above on the wiring diagram:

Red (pin 1) - positive supply across fuse 19 which is supplied directly from the battery.

Red (pin 4) - positive supply from terminal X on the ignition switch. In other words, the radio is supplied when the ignition key is in the parked or drive position.

Brown/white (pin 8) - dial illumination. The supply is taken from instrument lighting rheostat 16. Green (pin 6) - drive for electrically-operated aerial Black (pins 5, 9 (1988), 10) - earth.

Connector 267 shown below in the diagram serves for connection of the speakers:

Left-hand side, front LH F
Green (pin 1) -
Brown (pin 2) +

Right-hand side, front RH F
Red (pin 3) +
Blue (pin 4) -

Left-hand, rear LH R

Brown/white (pin 6) +

Right-hand, rear RH R
Red/white (pin 7) +
Blue/white (pin 8) -

Fault-tracing hints
1. Check the supply to the radio and the earth connection.
2. Check the existing wiring for open-circuits and short-circuits to earth.
3. Check the connectors.
