Operation
The electrical system is prepared for fitting a tow bar. An eight-pole connector (258) is provided for this purpose in the luggage compartment, to the right of the left-hand rear lamp cluster.

1987 model
The following lamps are supplied across connector 258:

Pin 1 Brake lights 30 (from brake light switch 29)

Pin 2 Rear lights 14 and number plate illumination 15 (from light switch 10 and fuse 29)

Pin 3 Direction indicator lamps 28, right-hand side (from direction indicator stalk switch 24)

Pin 4 Direction indicator lamps 27, left-hand side (from direction indicator stalk switch 24)

Pins 5 Rear fog lights 33 (from switch 161 for the and 8 rear fog lights)

The earth cable from the electrical connection of the tow bar must be connected by means of a separate connector to rear earthing point 9.

1988 model
The following lamps are supplied across connector 258:

Pin 1 Brake lights 30 (from brake light switch 29)

Pin 2 Rear light 14 (right-hand side) and number plate illumination 15 (from light switch 10 and fuse 29)

Pin 3 Direction indicator lamps 28, right-hand side (from direction indicator stalk switch 24)

Pin 4 Direction indicator lamps 27, left-hand side (from direction indicator stalk switch 24)

Pins 5 Rear fog lights 33 (from switch 161 for the and 8 rear fog lights)

Pin 6 Rear light 14 (left-hand side), from light switch 10 and fuse 30

Fault-tracing hints
1. Check the electrical connections at the connector for the trailer (risk of oxidation)
2. Check that the supply to each terminal in connector 258 is live.
3. Check the fuses and wiring.
