When performing error code diagnosis and repair, refer to Fig. 7 for error code identification and refer to SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS/ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC DIAGRAMS for ABS wiring circuits. If several error codes are displayed together they must be investigated and repaired in the order shown in Fig. 5.

Error Code-E001

1. Code E001 indicates a no ground condition between pin 1 of the ECU and ground point 301 on 9000 models or ground point 93 on 900 models.
2. Check wiring between pin 1 and grounding points, repair as necessary.
3. Check grounding point for good contact.

Error Code-E002

1. Code E001 indicates no battery voltage at ECU pin 2.
2. Proceed as follows:
a. Check 10 amp ABS fuse in ABS fuse panel and fuse 10 in vehicle fuse panel.
b. Ensure battery voltage is at least 10 volts.
c. Check wiring between ECU pin 2 and terminal 87 of the ignition switch relay, repair as necessary.
d. Check wiring between terminal 30 of the ignition switch relay and connector 75, repair as necessary.

Error Code-E320

1. This error code indicates that the system relay is defective.
2. Check signals from wheel sensors, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Antilock Brake System/Testing and Inspection/Procedures

A break in circuitry indicated by a zero reading on the tester can cause an E320 code. Repair any fault following procedures given in error codes ``E422, E523, E624 or E725.''
3. Check valves, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Antilock Brake System/Testing and Inspection/Procedures
4. Check 30 amp ABS fuse and 30 amp PUMP fuse on the ABS fuse panel.
5. Check wiring from ECU pins 3 and 20 to pin 30 on the system relay, repair as necessary.
6. Check wiring between connector 75 and pin 87 on the system relay, repair as necessary.
7. Check wiring between ground point 93 and pin 87 A on system relay, repair as necessary.
8. Check wiring between ECU pin 8 and pin 86 on the system relay, repair as necessary.
9. Check wiring between ground point 93 and pin 85 on the system relay, repair as necessary.
10. Check wiring between ground point 93 and ground point 300, repair as necessary.
11. Check system relay for a break or short circuit between pins 85 and 86.
12. If system relay wire circuit is satisfactory, replace system relay.

Error Codes-E422, E523, E624 & E725

1. These error codes indicate the following wheel sensor faults:
a. Code E422, no signal from the right rear wheel sensor to pins 4 and 22 of ECU.
b. Code E523, no signal from the left front wheel sensor to pins 5 and 23 of ECU.
c. Code E624, no signal from the left rear wheel sensor to pins 6 and 24 of ECU.
d. Code E725, no signal from the right front wheel sensor to pins 7 and 25 of ECU.
2. Check wiring from ECU pins to wheel sensor, repair as necessary.
3. Ensure gap between sensor wheel and sensor is .026 inch.
4. If wiring and gap are satisfactory, replace sensor.

Error Code-E008

1. This error code indicates that there is no control signal to system relay.
2. Check signals from wheel sensors, refer to ABS SYSTEM TESTER/MONITOR MODE, repair as necessary.
3. Check valves, refer to ABS SYSTEM TESTER/VALVE TEST MODE.
4. Check 30 amp fuse on ABS fuse panel.
5. Check for a short circuit or break in wiring between pin 8 of the ECU and pin 86 of the system relay.
6. Check system relay for a break or short circuit between pins 85 and 86.
7. Check wiring between pin 85 on system relay and ground point 93, then the wiring between ECU pins 3 and 20 to pin 30 on the system relay, repair as necessary.
8. If wiring and grounds are satisfactory, replace ECU.

Error Code-E009

1. This error code indicates that either the hydraulic pressure or fluid level are low.
2. Fill fluid reservoir and check accumulator pressure.

Error Code-E010

1. This error code indicates that the ECU is defective.
2. Proceed as follows:
a. Check wiring between pin 10 of the ECU and pin 5 of the pressure switch.
b. Check wiring between pin 3 of the pressure switch and pin 2 of the fluid level indicator.
c. Check wiring between pin 1 of the fluid level indicator and pin 9 of the ECU.
d. Check function of the pressure switch, contacts 3 and 5 should be closed if pressure is above 105 bar (1523 psi).
e. Check function of fluid level indicator.
f. If pressure switch, fluid level indicator and wiring are satisfactory, replace ECU.

Error Code-E011

1. This error code indicates that there is a break in continuity between pin 11 of the ECU and pin 1 on the valve block connector.
2. Check wiring between ECU pin 11 and pin 1 of valve block connector, repair as necessary.
3. Ensure ground point 300 of the hydraulic unit is secure.

Error Code-E014

1. This error code indicates a defective pump relay or pressure switch, this code is tripped if terminal 14 of the ECU has sensed continuous pump operation for more than 90 seconds during testing.
2. Check 10 amp ABS fuse on ABS fuse panel and 10 amp fuse on main fuse panel.
3. If pressure is below 140 bar (2030 psi), check that switch between terminals 1 and 4 on the pressure switch is closed.
4. Check wiring between connector 75 and pin 86 on the pump relay.
5. Check wiring between pin 85 on the pump relay and pin 4 on the pressure switch.
6. Check wiring between pin 1 on the pressure switch and ground point 93.
7. Check wiring between pin 85 on the pump relay and pin 14 on the ECU.
8. If wiring is satisfactory, replace pump relay.

Error Codes-E015, E016, E017, E018, E033, E034 & E035

1. These error codes indicate the following inlet and outlet valve faults:
a. Code E015, right front inlet valve is defective.
b. Code E016, rear outlet valve is defective.
c. Code E017, rear inlet valve is defective.
d. Code E018, main valve is defective.
e. Code E033, front left outlet valve is defective.
f. Code E034, front right outlet valve is defective.
g. Code E035, front left inlet valve is defective.
2. Check wiring as follows:
a. Code E015, check between pin 7 of the valve block connector and pin 15 of the ECU.
b. Code E016, check between pin 4 of the valve block connector and pin 33 of the ECU.
c. Code E017, check between pin 5 of the valve block connector and pin 17 of the ECU.
d. Code E018, check between main valve connector and pin 18 of the ECU.
e. Code E033, check between pin 3 of the valve block connector and pin 16 of the ECU.
f. Code E034, check between pin 6 of the valve block connector and pin 34 of the ECU.
g. Code E034, check between pin 2 of the valve block connector and pin 35 of the ECU.
3. If wiring is satisfactory, replace valve block.

Error Codes-EE22, EE23, EE24 & EE25

1. These error codes indicate sensor wheel runout, replace sensor wheel as follows:
a. Code EE22, right rear sensor wheel.
b. Code EE23, left front sensor wheel.
c. Code EE24, left rear sensor wheel.
d. Code EE25, right front sensor wheel.

Error Code-E032

1. This error code indicates a defective pump relay. This error code is triggered if signal level at pins 14 and 32 of the ECU has been the same for more than 40 seconds.
2. Check 30 amp fuse of the ABS fuse panel.
3. Check wiring between connector 75 and pin 30 on the pump relay.
4. Check wiring between pin 32 of the ECU and pin 87 on the pump relay.
5. Check wiring between pin 87 on the pump relay and pin 1 on the pump motor.
6. Check for break in circuit continuity or short circuit between pins 85 and 86 of the pump relay.
7. Check wiring between pin 2 on pump motor and ground point 93.
8. If wiring is satisfactory, replace pump relay.

Error Code-E132

1. This error code indicates that the hydraulic pump is running continuously. This error code can be triggered only if ECU terminal 32 has been energized for more than 90 seconds during testing.
2. Check wiring between pin 14 on the ECU and pin 85 on the pump relay.
3. Check wiring between pin 85 on the pump relay and pin 4 on the pressure switch.
4. If hydraulic pressure is higher than 180 bar (2610 psi), check if switch between pins 1 and 4 on the pressure switch is open.
5. If switch is not open and wiring is satisfactory, replace pump relay.

Error Code-PRES

1. This error code indicates that hydraulic pressure to the pressure switch is low.
2. Ensure pressure switch connections are satisfactory.
3. Check level in brake fluid reservoir.
4. Check wiring between pin 1 on the pump and ground point 93.
5. If pressure switch connections, brake fluid level and wiring are satisfactory, replace pump.
