PURPOSE
The Saab Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) tester has been developed to facilitate service and fault diagnosis work. The tester is designed for connection to the SRS data link connector by means of a connector and 1-meter cable.

CONSTRUCTION
The test equipment consists of the instrument, connecting cable and connector. The case is made of tough, oil-resistant black plastic, with a protective cover for the control panel. The display has a product-matched 14-segment LCD with three diaphragm type push-button switches. The Unit is controlled by a Crystal-controlled 8-bit processor with 1.8 KB memory.







OPERATION
All faults occurring in the system, permanent (persistent) or intermittent (sporadic) are stored in the control module and can be retrieved with the tester. A test cable, part No. 84 71 146, and a reference resistor, part No. 84 71 153, are used for fault diagnosis.
