Crankshaft position sensor

To remove





1 Switch off the ignition.

2 Fit special tool 83 93 993 to lock the flywheel.

3 Remove the right-hand front wing liner.

4 Compress the belt tensioner and lock it using yoke 83 95 488.

5 Remove the A/C belt. Undo the nut and bolt on the belt tensioner. Remove the generator belt.

6 Remove the pulley.

Important: This will be easier if it is carefully heated.

7 Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

8 Unplug the connector and remove the cable tie.


To fit

Fit in reverse order.

Important: The crankshaft position sensor's retaining bolts should be fixed with LOCTITE type 270 or other suitable locking fluid.

Belt pulley tightening torque 190 Nm (140 lbf ft)
