Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

A fuel supply pump and a pressure canister, Fig. 41, are used to keep the supply side of the main pump under constant pressure to reduce the possibility of vapor-lock. The fuel supply pump delivers the fuel from the tank to the canister. When the canister is full, pressure is built up and the main pump is supplied fuel under pressure.
