Throttle Position Switch: Adjustments
Adjustments of basic setting are only required if repairs are made to the throttle housing, idle speed is too high or fault codes 12113 and/or 12114 are stored in the ECU. Adjust basic setting as follows:1. Loosen throttle position switch mounting screws, the rotate switch until it no longer acts on the throttle plate.
2. Ensure throttle cable is slack.
3. Using throttle stop screw adjuster No. 83-94-322, loosen locknut on throttle stop screw, then turn screw until throttle plate is fully closed.
4. Turn screw 1/2 turn clockwise and tighten locknut. Do not alter screw setting.
5. Adjust throttle position switch back to its normal position with contacts (pins 1 and 2) closed at idle. Tighten switch mounting screws.
6. To check throttle position switch setting, listen for an audible click as the throttle plate moves from idle position.
