Subject
Checking the Position of the Engine Wiring Harness
Application:
1993 9000 Turbos with Automatic Transmissions
It is possible that on some cars the wiring harness between the engine control module behind the bulkhead partition and the 24-pin connector has been incorrectly secured. Please follow the directions below to rectify this situation.
NOTE
This PSI (TSB) is identified as a "Service Directive," meaning that affected cars should be corrected before delivery if possible, or at the next service opportunity, regardless of whether there has been a customer complaint. A "Service Directive" differs slightly from a "campaign". Owners are not notified to bring their car in for Unscheduled service under this procedure.
Cars Affected:
1993 9000 Turbo models with automatic transmission
Action:
Check the way the wiring harness is run. If there is a possibility of it rubbing against the throttle cable bracket, proceed as follows:
1. Lift up the ABS fuse box.
2. Loosen the cable tie slightly and tighten the wiring harness behind the ABS fuse box. Tighten the cable tie. Replace it if necessary.
3. Refit the ABS fuse box.
Warranty Information:
A warranty claim may be submitted using Failure Code 37164-78-0-01 or 06-05. Use operation No. 37199 for 0.2 hours. Includes Inspect and Correct Wiring.
