Headlamp: Adjustments
Lateral adjustment
Switch on the headlamps (dipped) and check that the headlamp is correctly aligned laterally. The zone with the brightest light should be as close to the center as possible.
For optimum alignment, the tolerance band for the light/dark boundary can be used.
Align both headlamps in the same way.
Check the spread of the main beams (usually slightly too far to the left) if difficulty is experienced in aligning the headlamps.
Also check that the bulbs are installed correctly.
Vertical adjustment
Switch on the headlamps (dipped) and check that the headlamp is correctly aligned vertically. Adjust the height of the beam to the left-hand (LHD cars) or right-hand (RHD cars) horizontal line.
Adjust the height of the beam to that part of the light/dark boundary which is within 0-30 mm to the left (LHD cars) or right (RHD cars) of the center line.
Align both headlamps in the same way.
Check the spread of the main beams (usually slightly too tar to the left) if difficulty is experienced in aligning the headlamps.
