Procedure
1. Put the seat in its most forward position and raise it to its highest position.2. Remove the seat's rear bolts, 2 pcs.
3. Put the seat in its rearmost position and remove the 2 front bolts.
4. Tilt the seat backwards and unplug the connectors.
5. Lift out the seat and place it upside down on a clean surface.
6. Loosen the rear of the seat cover, 2 hooks.
7. Cut an M6 thread in the left hand joint.
8. Position the supplementary joint 49 O1 658 as straight as possible with the pins in the holes and knock it in place. The joint should be knocked in far enough for the bolt provided will lock the supplementary joint to the old one. The bolt must not protrude out of the back of the old joint, as it may then touch the seat frame.
The longer edge (A) of the joint is to point to the front of the seat.
9. Lock the bolt with Loctite 242, part no. 300 72 00 or equivalent.
10. Repeat the procedure on the right hand side of the seat.
11. Clean off any metal chippings from the seat.
12. Fasten the rear of the seat cover. Fasten the hooks in the fourth thread.
13. Adjust the height of the seat to make sure the bolts do not touch the seat frame.
14. Position the seat into the car and plug in the connectors.
15. Fit the seat.
Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 lbf ft).
