The locations of the chassis and engine identification numbers, etc. are shown in the illustrations. For positive identification of the car or engine, these numbers and the odometer reading of the car should always be staked in connection with claims under warranty and the like.

When a car is fitted with a replacement engine, the number of the old engine must be punched in the place provided for this purpose. This is essential to ensure that no difficulties will arise if the car is used for travel abroad at a later date.
