The speed control system consists of the cruise control module, cruise control switches, brake and clutch pedal switches, brake lights switch, speed signal from the speedometer and the cruise control active signal to the engine management system, Fig. 4.
The driver sets the speed control system using the switch on the combination switch. The system will disengage automatically when either the clutch pedal or brake pedal is pressed, when the switch is moved to the Off or Tip position, when the selector lever is in the N position or when the traction control system is activated.
The control module incorporates an electric stepping motor which mechanically regulates the cruise control cable connected to the throttle body, either retracting it or extending it according to the speed of the vehicle.
