Extra Fog Lights

US And CA Markets
Switching the car's headlamps to main beam will cause relay 107 to release and the fog lights to go out, even if switch 88 is depressed. This is because positive current is applied to both sides of the relay coil.

Daylight driving light relay 174 supplies positive current to the fog lights when the lights switch is in position 0.

Other Markets
The fog lights are wired so that they can be switched on when the car's daylight driving lights, parking lights or headlamps (main or dipped beam) are on.

If lights switch 10 is in position 0 (daylight driving lights), position 1 (parking lights) or position 2 (head-lamps, main or dipped beam), positive current will be applied to terminal 7 of switch 88a (extra fog lights) via fuse 29 (which also supplies the parking lights with current).

When switch 88a is depressed, relay 107 operates and the lamp built into the switch lights up at full intensity. When the switch is not activated, the lamp is supplied with current via rheostat 15 (lighting for instruments and controls).

When the relay is in the operated state, both fog lights 85 receive current from fuse 12 via the closed relay contact.

On cars with extra fog lights and a rear fog light, the rear fog light is supplied with current via relay 107 and extra fog lights switch 88 when the extra fog lights are switched on.
