Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

To Remove
1. Remove the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
2. Release the pressure in the cooling system by undoing the cap on the expansion tank. Screw the cap back in place.
3. Unplug the connector.
4. Remove the sensor.

To Fit
Fit in reverse order.
Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.6 lb ft).
Top up with coolant as necessary.

IMPORTANT: After refitting the coolant temperature sensor it will be necessary to check and/or adjust the kickdown cable.
This is done with special tool 87 92 459.
