Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints: Service and Repair
1. Loosen hub nut.2. Raise and support vehicle and remove wheels.
3. Remove wheelwell liners.
4. Remove strut-to-steering member attaching bolts. Disconnect brake line from strut.
5. Remove clamp securing inboard dust boot, then separate the two halves of the joint. Cover boot and driver.
6. Remove hub nut and thrust washer, then remove drive axle assembly.
7. Remove inner and outer universal joints, refer to Constant Velocity Joint.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque strut-to-steering member bolts to 56-75 ft. lbs.
b. Torque hub nut to 195-208 ft. lbs.
