CHECK ENGINE REQUESTFault Symptoms
CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) on.
CHECK GEARBOX lamp on.
Transmission in limp-home mode.
Conditions.
The transmission control module (TCM) has recorded an emission-related fault.
Diagnostic Help.
Diagnostic trouble code P1624 is generated when the transmission control module (TCM) detects an emission-related fault. It then sends a CHECK ENGINE request to the Motronic control module which lights up the CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL). See fault diagnosis in the Automatic Transmission.
Check The Wiring.
Intermittent faults may occur as a result of temporary short circuits and breaks in the wiring. Jiggle the wiring at several points and in different directions to ascertain whether the wiring harness, including any connectors, is causing the trouble. Observe the multimeter, ISAT scan tool or test lamp while doing this.
Diagnostic Procedure.
Check fault diagnosis in the Automatic Transmission.
