Cooling System: Testing and Inspection
FAULT DIAGNOSIS HINTSSingle-Speed Radiator Fan
1. Check that fuse 4 is intact and supplied with current.
2. Check that current is supplied to relay 155.
3. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature and check that the EDU control module is in working order.
4. Check that the relay operates and that the radiator fan is in working order.
5. Check connectors and the wiring harness as well as ground connections.
2-Speed Radiator Fan
1. Check fuses 3, 4 and maxi fuse 2 and also check whether current is supplied to the fuse.
2. Check that current is supplied to relay 155.
3. Check that current is supplied to relay 433.
4. Switch on the ignition and check that relay 433 operates.
5. Start the engine and check that the intermediate pressure switch in 166 closes and that relay 155 operates.
6. Check that the radiator fan starts and runs at speed 1. If it does not, check resistor 366.
7. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature and check that the EDU control module is in working order.
8. Check connectors and the wiring harness as well as ground connections.
