WARNING:
Mercury is highly toxic in most of its forms or becomes so in the open, where it is extremely poisonous to all living creatures.
Mercury and materials containing mercury are environmentally hazardous waste products and should be disposed of separately.
Switches in the luggage compartment
The luggage compartment lighting switch is located under the trim.
For model year 1989 Saab 9000 cars, this applies up to the following chassis numbers:
100 95 47
200 49 88
800 04 44
Seat-belt tensioner
Model year 1992 Saab 9000 cars have a mercury switch in the seat-belt tensioner up to chassis number 100 72 06.
Lead
Lead occurs above all in the weights used for balancing wheels and tires.
Lead is a heavy metal classed as environmentally hazardous waste and should be disposed of in accordance with applicable laws and regulations..
Liquids in the car

Battery
Used car batteries are classed as environmentally hazardous waste products. Handling and transport should be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Important
Make sure that the battery is always stood upright and horizontal.
Never place tools or other objects on the top of the battery.
WARNING
Battery acid has a corrosive effect on skin, eyes and throat (when swallowed).
If battery acid gets into your eyes, rinse them copiously with water, preferably for at least 10 minutes. Then have them attended to by a physician.
If you have inadvertently swallowed battery acid, do not provoke vomiting. See a physician as soon as possible.
