DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
The front seats can be adjusted by means of switches on the outer side of each seat. Electric motors move the seat lengthwise, change the height of the seat cushion at front and rear, and change the rake of the backrest.

When the ignition switch is in the Drive position, current is supplied to:
^ switch 357D on the driver's seat via fuse 25
^ switch 357P on the passenger's seat via fuse 26.

The following motors are controlled by switch 357:
^ Electric motor 357Da/Pa moves the seat forwards and rearwards.
^ Electric motor 357Db/Pb raises and lowers the tront of the seat.
^ Electric motor 357 Dc/Pc raises and lowers the rear of the seat.
^ Electric motor 357Dd/Pd changes the rake of the seat backrest. It can be reclined until it rests against the rear seat cushion. Forward movement is limited by microswitch 369.

Relay 446 Da/Pa, which is controlled by the door switches, enables the seat to be adjusted even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position.

On M1997 and later models a driver's seat without memory is also available.

FAULT DIAGNOSIS HINTS
Electrical adjustment of the seat is also possible with the ignition switch in the OFF position.
1. Check that fuses 25 and 26 are intact and supplied with current.
2. Check that current is supplied to switch 358.
3. Check that current is supplied to the motors by activating the corresponding switches.
4. Check the connectors, wiring harness and ground connections.
