Fuel pump relay. No power to fuel pump or O2S preheating.

Fault symptom

^ Engine will not start.

^ Misfiring before fault code registered.

Conditions

The following conditions apply to the particular diagnostic trouble code:

^ The crankshaft rotates and the engine misfires.

^ O2S preheating active.

Diagnostic help

Fault diagnosis is for electrical fault in connected lines, or in the relay.

Functions of the diagnostics tool related to the fault:

^ Activation of output for fuel pump relay.

Checking wiring harnesses

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points to reveal any intermittent open or short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostics tool or test lamp during the test.
