Blower Motor: Service and Repair


Ventilation Fan

To remove





1. Drape protective covers over the front wings.
2. Put the air recirculation control in position OFF
Ignition switch in the OFF position.





3. Remove the wiper arms using special tool part No.85 80 144.
4. Remove the rubber seals from the wiper spindles.
5. Loosen the rubber moulding along the edge of the bulkhead in the middle only. Leave the outer clips in place.
6. Loosen the cover over the bulkhead partition space (fastened with clips) by lifting it carefully forwards so that it is released fro the windscreen.
Hold the wire to the bonnet release to one side and lift the cover backwards towards the windscreen.





7. Loosen the clips holding the front edge of the water shield with a screwdriver. Lift off the water shield.
8. Remove the wiper unit and unplug the connector, 4 bolts.





9. Remove the frame around the ventilator fan, 2 clips and 2 nuts on front edge.
10. Remove the wiper arm bracket over the ventilation fan, 3 bolts.





11. Free the cable harness from the cover over the ventilation fan (fastened with clips).
12. Remove the cover over the ventilator fan, 2 bolts on front edge and 2 bolts on rear edge Lift the cover to one side and remove it.
13. Lift out the ventilation fan, cutting the cable tie, and unplug the fan connector.





14. Lift up the fan and pull it to the side to remove it from the bulkhead.

To fit





1. Insert the ventilation fan from one side of the bulkhead partition space.





2. Plug in the connector and fit a new cable tie to the ventilation fan.
3. Put the ventilation tan in place, making sure the frame around the fan fits into the corresponding grooves. Make sure the cables do not touch the fan motor or air recirculation flap.
4. Fit the cover over the ventilation fan, 2 bolts on front edge and 2 bolts on rear edge.
5. Make sure there is clearance for the air recirculation flap.
6. Fasten the cable harness to the cover over the ventilation fan (with clips).





7. Fit the wiper arm bracket over the ventilation fan, 3 bolts.
8. Fit the frame around the ventilation fan, 2 clips and 2 nuts.
Make sure the gasket is located correctly.





9. Fit the wiper unit, 4 screws, Plug in the connector.
10. Put back the water shield (fastened with 3 clips on front edge).





1.1 Insert the cover over the bulkhead from the rear, against the windscreen. Move the bonnet locking cable to the side and mount it in the groove.
12. Fit the rubber moulding to the front edge of the bulkhead, 2 clips.
13. Fit the rubber seals on the wiper spindles.
14. Fit the wiper arms.
15. Remove the protective covers from the front wings.
