Door mirror casing comes loose

Saab 9-5 up to and including VIN W3077258 (M98) and X3001490 (M99) respectively


Background

Door mirror casing comes loose.


Parts required

79 75 535 Screw


Procedure

1. Remove the mirror glass.
2. Make sure the glass was not damaged during removal.
3. Open the three clips just enough to fit the screws (part no. 79 75 535), which will reinforce the casing mounting. See illustration.
4. Make sure there are no depressions in the mirror casing. If this is the case, loosen the screws 1-2 turns.
5. Make sure the rubber bellows for the mirror motor are in place.
6. Fit the glass with the motor in its centre position. The glass must not be loose. Make sure the glass is located correctly.
7. Check that the glass can be adjusted to all end positions.
